Sabbath Praise & Worship Conference Returns December 4-5, 2026
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church | Sumter, SC
After 25 years away, Sumter native Pastor Trevor A. Cooper returns home with a message of hope, renewal, and community empowerment.

Presented by Impact Fellowship Church in partnership with Amasha Hope, the second annual Sabbath Conference, also known as SabCon, will bring together residents of Sumter and surrounding communities for two days of community dialogue, music, leadership development, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.

TWO TRACKS. ONE COMMUNITY.
SabCon 2026 will feature two distinct but complementary areas of programming:

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT
Presented by Amasha Hope, this nonreligious community program will feature conversations and workshops centered on youth empowerment, physical and mental wellness, music and creative development, leadership, education, workforce readiness, and pathways to opportunity.

The program will also include the public introduction of Sons of Sumter, a proposed male empowerment and mentorship initiative currently in development.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Presented by Impact Fellowship Church, the spiritual program will bring together worship, music, teaching, and fellowship centered on rest, renewal, and faith.
Introducing Sons of Sumter
During SabCon 2026, IFC’s conference partner, Amasha Hope, will publicly introduce Sons of Sumter, a proposed four-year mentorship, leadership, and pathway-development initiative for young men in Sumter County.

The December presentation will mark the initiative’s community-introduction and development phase, not the launch of an operating mentoring program. As an initial step, Amasha Hope plans to establish a Founding Sons Advisory Council of 10 to 15 current 10th-grade students. With parent or legal guardian consent and appropriate youth safeguards, the council would help inform the program’s design and rites of passage. One-on-one mentoring would not begin during this advisory phase.

Subject to final planning, sustainable funding, safeguards, and appropriate school or district cooperation, the inaugural mentoring cohort is envisioned to launch in 2027. The initial cohort size and participating schools have not yet been finalized.

The proposed model would support participants through 11th and 12th grades and for two years following graduation. Programming would emphasize:

-
Life and social skills
-
Physical and mental wellness
-
Leadership and personal responsibility
-
Workforce development
-
Trade school and apprenticeship
-
Military service
-
Entrepreneurship and business formation
-
Community college, technical education, and four-year college or university
Students, families, prospective mentors and elders, educators, health professionals, employers, and community leaders will be invited to participate in the conversation and help inform the initiative’s continued development.
